ABOUT ANDREAS STEINBRECHER:
Andreas Steinbrecher is known for his dynamic exploration of the artist’s stroke, creating compositions where painterly gesture meets invented forms and creatures. His works unfold as visual narratives—part creation myth, part psychological space—populated by creatures that seem to possess their own agency.
He studied communication design at the Peter Behrens School of Arts, Hochschule Düsseldorf (BA with Honors, 2009–2013), then returned to art education at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where he studied under Professor Thomas Scheibitz and completed his diploma in 2023. In 2023, he received the Meisterschüler title. His work has been shown in institutional and gallery settings across Europe, including the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, Storage Museum Düsseldorf, Jarmuschek + Partner (Berlin), and internationally in Italy and South Korea.
Andreas lives and works in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Since 2023, we have been working with Andreas Steinbrecher at our wildpalms gallery, a collaboration that has already attracted the interest of renowned curators, such as those at the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf.
In March, we will be presenting his work in a solo exhibition at a booth at Art Rotterdam. His works have been shown in exhibitions at wildpalms (Düsseldorf), the Positions Berlin Art Fair, ARTE SANTANDER, Art Vilnius, and KIT – Kunst im Tunnel, as well as in Italy and Greece.
He is the recipient of the Best Group Art Promotion Award (2022) and the Germany Scholarship (2020–2021).
